Learn a variety of classic Egyptian Raqs Sharqi moves that are essential for every belly dancers repertoire. We will also piece these movements together in combinations that you can drop into your own dance routine or improvisation.
VEIL TECHNIQUE AND COMBOS

Learn a variety of impressive veil techniques and combos to create magic in the air! Move with grace, spin with ease and know how to choose appropriate music that brings out the best in your bellydancing with veils.
*Students are required to bring their own veil (silk veil is preferable). Spare veils will be provided.
BELLYDANCE RHYTHMS SERIES 2: WITH LIVE DRUMMING

Join Ekaterini and percussionist George El -Azar for a special workshop to start our year of dancing! This workshop will focus on two popular Middle Eastern rhythms- the lively Saidi rhythm and the hypnotic Chiftetelli rhythm. This workshop will help you to recognise and interpret each rhythm through a variety of movements and combos.

SLOW AND SLINKY COMBOS

Suitable for beginner and intermediate level dancers. All levels welcome.
Slow movements add breath, sensuality and an element of power to a performance. This workshop will cover many of the slow and sinuous foundational movements through technique and combos, as well as how to perform them with grace and fluidity.

Join me for the first of a series of workshops that will focus on a variety of popular rhythms used in Middle Eastern belly dance music. First up is the upbeat rhythm, Maksum!
Understanding the rhythms you hear will deepen and empower your dancing, and also make it easier when creating drum solos with a percussionist. In this workshop we will break down the rhythm so that it can be easily recognised in a song, and you will also learn ways to interpret the rhythm through technique and combinations.

Choreography is a magical opportunity to create art in motion and to showcase movements and musicality in your own unique style. There are many concepts to consider when crafting a choreography and this informative workshop will offer many tips and guidance to help you create an impressive, dynamic and engaging performance. Topics covered will include music interpretation, interacting with space, transitions, embracing your strengths and connecting with your audience. As always, there will be lots of dancing in this workshop too!
